Upon arriving at Mount Cook Village, nestled deep within Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. Choose to enjoy a relaxed lunch at the Hermitage Hotel (with incredible alpine views), or embark on a self-guided walk along the world-famous Hooker Valley Track—a relatively easy 3-hour return hike with swing bridges, alpine views, and a glacier lake at the end.
Our return journey takes you back through the Mackenzie countryside, with a few scenic stops along the way. You’ll arrive back in Christchurch in the evening, full of memories, incredible photos, and a deeper appreciation for the natural wonders of New Zealand.
